Titanium String Quartet entertained corporate clients for a swanky event at the Royal Festival Hall last night. The musicians welcomed VIP guests prior to a special concert with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Katherine Jenkins.

Susie, who leads and arranges for Titanium String Quartet has recently been busy recording Cello for The BAFTA award winning CBBC series ‘The Dumping Ground’. She has also had her arrangements for strings recorded at Air Studio and played with Classical Kicks and DJ Rob Da Bank.

Our violinist is currently performing with Adele on her UK and European live tour following her third studio album “25”.

‘Seasons’ presents Vivaldi’s much loved Four Seasons and is paired with new composition by Oliver Davis. The recording is performed by Trafalgar Sinfonia and is conducted by Ivor Setterfield.

Some of our musicians are featured on the new release of the Four Seasons with London’s Trafalgar Sinfonia. This is due to be released on 16th October and has already climbed the Classical Charts from pre-order alone. The album also features a new companion piece for soprano, violin and strings by commercial composer Oliver Davis. Davis’ last release reached no.2 in the Classical Charts so watch this space!

Titanium musicians played alongside Take That at the O2 ‘Wear The Rose Live’ celebration in September. The event saw 14,500 fans showing their support for the England Rugby team where our string supremes accompanied Take That’s performance as part of a 48 piece orchestra. The evening culminated with the England team joining Take That onstage for a spectacular send off into the Rugby World Cup tournament.

A string quartet is an ensemble of four string instruments: two violins, one viola and one cello. Considered one of the most prominent chamber ensembles in classical music, the string quartet was made popular by Austrian composer, Joseph Haydn who took to composing four part string pieces in the 1750s. The genre was firmly established as Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven followed suit with string quartet composition.

A typical classical string quartet takes shape in four movements, a set formula that moves through specific keys and tempos for a complete musical journey. Composers increasingly moved away from the structure in the twentieth century, leaving this format a particular to classical music. As well as music specifically written for four string instruments, skilled arrangers can rewrite any piece of music to be performed by a string quartet.

Titanium String Quartet was honoured to play for guests at the AgustaWestland Centenary Gala at the Mall Galleries in central London. Royalty were amongst the VIPs attending the London gallery to celebrate one hundred years of service in aircraft design and manufacture in the UK.

The Quartet received excellent feedback from those in attendance and a glowing written review from event’s organiser, Richard Folkes:
