If you want your wedding day to be assured of classical elegance, look no further than London’s Dorchester Hotel. Having played host to Society weddings and even Royalty (Prince Phillip famously spent his stag weekend at the Dorchester), the five star venue promises a slick and sophisticated affair. The grand, theatrical setting of the main Ballroom can accommodate a banquet for up to 430 guests, providing a truly lavish dining experience. The Dorchester’s specialist wedding team can also arrange the Penthouse or Pavilion spaces if you are planning a more intimate celebration.
The Grove Hotel, Hertfordshire
Located just outside of London, the Grove Hotel is set in a breathtaking 300 acres of Hertfordshire parkland by the River Gade. With a choice of The Mansion, The Potting Shed or The Amber as your ceremony venue, the Grove will also provide for specific catering requirements, offering Asian Fusion and Kosher options as well as traditional menus. The hotel’s 5 star spa deserves a special mention. In addition to the outdoor pool with the Grove Beach, the spa boasts an iconic black mosaic indoor pool. Why not book in a day early to relax and indulge in some of the luxury treatments on offer before the big day.
Kensington Roof Gardens, London
If you’re having a central London ceremony but want to escape the hot summer city, a rooftop bar is the perfect choice to get away from the hustle and bustle. In the heart of Chelsea your guests can enjoy one and a half acres of outdoor themed areas at the Kensington Roof Gardens. Ceremonies can be hosted in the glamorous clubhouse (with a capacity of 150) followed by drinking and dining outdoors where you can enjoy the sunset and party into the evening.
Home House, London
London’s most exclusive members club knows how to do world class prestige. Gwen Stefani is the most recent celebrity to choose Home House for their London wedding venue. Rooms are also available for guests to indulge in a luxury overnight stay in London should they wish. The Home House events team not only provide your venue, but offer a whole wedding planning package including florists and photographers.
Kew Gardens, London
Kew Gardens in West London offers a range of venue options: Cambridge Cottage, Nash Conservatory, Princess of Wales Conservatory, the Orangery and the Sir Joseph Banks building. Whilst the Orangery is ideal for a large dinner dance (capacity 200, or standing reception allows an increase to a capacity of 400), the Cambridge Cottage is more suited to an intimate ceremony, accommodating 80 guests. Each venue boasts the glorious backdrop of the gardens to provide the perfect setting for photos, and events organisers suggest the ‘multiple venue hire package’ if you wish to host the entire wedding day at Kew Gardens.
The Shard, London
The Shard’s Shangri-La hotel on the 52nd Floor won’t leave your guests wanting for a view as you tie the knot with the London skyline as your backdrop. Accommodating up to 110 guests the Shangri-La wedding team will tailor their services to your requirements. Whilst you can’t take your guests on the honeymoon, share the holiday romance early by hosting your drinks reception by the infinity Skypool whilst enjoying cocktails from Gong Bar.
